Meet the Authors
Mel Todd
Urban fantasy, epic fantasy & science fiction
Mel Todd is a speculative fiction author and the owner of Bad Ash Publishing, an indie press built on the belief that genre fiction deserves both craft and heart. She writes urban fantasy, epic fantasy, and science fiction, including Twisted Luck, Noble’s Luck, the Kaylid Chronicles, and Cori at Large, with more than 40 titles out.
A longtime student of Stoic philosophy, she’d rather plan for the worst and write toward the best.
Doug Burbey
Blood War · co-written with Mel
Doug Burbey is the universe creator behind the Blood War urban fantasy series and glitchy-robot comedic sci-fi, and is constantly preparing to repel the demon hordes, slay zombies, and brew beer. A military brat who grew up in the Philippines, he served in the U.S. Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after “a couple wars.”
With the help of an incredibly patient co-author named Mel Todd, who taught him what things like “POV,” “spelling,” and “outlines” meant, the Blood War series was born.
